Abstract Ocular surface diseases are one of the most frequent causes of people searching for ophthalmology clinics. They comprise a heterogeneous group of diseases, with conventional treatment being non-curative, presenting as a major challenge. Therefore new techniques using advanced therapies appear as innovative options in this scenario. Objectives: the main objective of this project is to establish, a perinatal and ocular Master Cell Bank under Good Laboratory Practices for subsequent establishment of a cell Good Manufacturing Practices biobank available for clinical trials. Furthermore specific objectives as 1. Three-dimensional cultivation techniques, 2. Bioprinting techniques, 3. Single cell analysis techniques and 4. Carrying out an engineering run under cGMP conditions in order to qualify and validate the cGMP routine. The present project is expected to increase the existing biobank, bringing different cell types that will be cultivated following quality control and assurance practices, as well as learning and unprecedented results for the development of prototypes in advanced therapy products based on bioprinting for the treatment of ocular surface diseases. | |
