Abstract

This Project seeks to deepen the understanding about the artistic production as an instrument for developing and disseminating knowledge in the area of criminology. It has the main objective of examinating the Racionais Mc's trajectory as proclaimers of criminology, searching how the discourse about the justice sistem has evolved through time in the lyrics, actions and speeches of the group. Collectively, it is intended to approach the social and political context that has influenced them, exploring the relation between the writings and the hip-hop scene in the building of a criminological knowledge, especially in the cultural crimological's field. The research utilizes the metodology of documental analysis as a way to the apreehension, observation and study of the many documents that link to the group's trajectory. Finally, on the basis of the substance's analysis of the Racionais Mc's developments between 1988 and 2024, correlated with the history of the group and its social context, it is suggested to think from the ideas of "escrevivência" and situated knowledges, identifying them as enunciators of a rightful speech about the justice sistem.
