Abstract

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) have been used in Medicine for different clinical situations involving biomarkers for diagnosis and also in therapies focusing on tissue regeneration and immunomodulation. Given this, the question arises about the efficiency of using EVs for therapy in situations of recurrent spontaneous abortion, considering the influence of immune responses in this process. Therefore, this research aims to analyze the effectiveness of therapies with extracellular vesicles for immunomodulation in the maintenance of pregnancies in situations of recurrent spontaneous abortion. For this, the study will be conducted by the recommendations of the Guidance for conducting systematic scoping reviews. The electronic literature search will be carried out for two independence researches using the PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, and Cochrane Library databases until December 2024 to answer the research question: "How effective are extracellular vesicles in maintaining pregnancies in patients with a history of recurrent miscarriages?" After selecting the articles and extracting the data, they will be subjected to bias risk analysis. It is expected to determine the effectiveness of EVs for immunomodulation in maintaining pregnancies in situations of recurrent spontaneous abortion.
