Abstract

This is a scientific initiation project linked to an ongoing post-doctoral project (as document presented in attachment). Both projects use an adapted model of the Stimulus Equivalence paradigm that relates word sound (A), picture (B), written word (C), and spoken word (D) for reading teaching. Two words undergo teaching AB, AC, and CD and two other words, reserved for recombinative reading with comprehension accessments (CB-BC), undergo only AB teaching. In its first phase, the postdoctoral project includes CB accessments with unknown S-. The literature contains different interpretations about performances during CB probes, including differences in learning curves when comparing results between CB and BC probes. In turn, the main goal of the scientific initiation project is to investigate the control exerted by stimuli during recombinative reading assessments with comprehension (BC-CB). Specifically, it includes two groups of 10 participants. In the first group, CB probes will include known S-, and in the second group, it will include both, CB probes with known S- and CB probes with unknown S-. Consequently, taken together, data from the first stage of the post-doctorate and data from the scientific initiation will form three groups of subjects, each corresponding to a parameter of the independent variable of interest (the form of presentation of the CB probes). The activities planned for the beneficiary do not exceed 12 hours per week, with half of the hours reserved for data collection and the other half for data analysis, reading, writing, and participation in scientific events. The activities planned for the beneficiary in this project do not exceed 12 hours per week, with half of the hours reserved for data collection and the other half for data analysis, reading, writing, and participation in scientific events. The proposal includes prevision of a two-month period of Research Internship Abroad (BEPE), aiming at contributing to the scientific formation of the beneficiary by integrating her into a network of international researchers.
