Abstract

The INCT-ECCE, an interdisciplinary research team with a two-decade history, specializes in symbolic functioning using the Stimulus Equivalence Paradigm (SEP). SEP explores relations between stimuli, simulating symbolic acquisition. The institute endeavors to create teaching programs for language, social competencies, and academic skills, addressing challenges in autism, communication disorders, and developmental delays. Ongoing basic research on equivalence relations, stimulus control, and relational learning enhances program effectiveness. The institute has successfully trained doctoral and master's students, offering post-doctoral opportunities. The proposed institute seeks to amplify these efforts, fostering new research leaders and promoting knowledge dissemination. International expansion aims to spotlight Brazilian initiatives and provide scientific opportunities. The envisioned structural organization prioritizes increased member participation, ensuring team efficiency and robust interactions.
