Abstract

Based on a Portuguese-Brazilian sample, the aim is to identify and understand, through experience reports, how Martial Arts and Combat Sports (MA&CS) teachers perceive possible changes in their students ocurred after disruptive situations experienced in combat practices. This is a qualitative, exploratory and descriptive study based on a FAPESP Scientific Initiation project (2023/10755-0), which is part of a larger project. During the course of the larger project, 133 interviews were conducted with practitioners of 8 AM&EC modalities in 5 Brazilian regions, carried out under suspensive listening - a method of subtracting judgments in order to access the phenomenon. In order to process and analyze the material, collaborative work is being carried out between 5 members of GFEPAC, and progress is being made on transcribing these interviews, the preliminary analysis of which has just begun. Transcription updates the position of suspensive listening, leading the researcher to become familiar with and appropriate its operations. The analysis is followed by psychological reduction and intentional cross-referencing. Going forward, the aim of this project is to extend data collection to a Portuguese sample in order to internationalize the variety of experiences to be crossed in order to uncover pre-reflective and intentional acts pertinent to the manifestation of the object of analysis.
