Abstract

Introduction: Physical exercise is the "key" part of cardiac rehabilitation programs (CRP), however, in heart patients it is common for signs and/or symptoms and the occurrence of rhythm disturbances (RD) during and/or after exercise. Since the presence of coronary artery disease (CAD) is high in these programs, and ischemia is a substrate for the emergence of RD, it is necessary to investigate and characterize the individuals most susceptible and vulnerable to presenting disorders during a session. of rehabilitation. Objectives: To identify and describe the clinical and physical profile of individuals with cardiovascular diseases who present an increase, decrease or maintenance in the number of RD during exercise in relation to the pattern of RD recorded at rest. Methods: Men and women, regular participants in a CRP, aged over 45 years and with a main diagnosis of CAD will be recruited. These will be connected to a simultaneous three-lead Holter and the occurrence of RD will be analyzed in 2 moments: I. Initial rest stage (60 min), II. Exercise stage (60 min), that is, usual exercise session organized into: aerobic (45 min) and resistance (15 min). The clinical profile will be determined using data contained in medical records considering the following variables: age, cardiac risk factors and gender; and the physical profile considering: anthropometry, quadriceps muscle strength, functional capacity, body mass index, maximum heart rate, maximum oxygen consumption and ejection fraction. The sample will be divided into groups by calculating the minimum significant difference (Smallest Worthwile Change - SWC; 0.2) for the occurrence of rhythm disturbances (in the unit of disturbances/hour) during exercise considering "increase", "decrease" and "maintenance" the occurrence of disturbances. Analysis between groups will be performed using the one way ANOVA. The statistical significance considered will be p<0.05.
