Abstract

Studies with genetics have been important to investigate genetic and environmental factors in solving problems after some intervention. Individual preferences can be tested by discrete screening experiments (1) and help understand different behaviors between twins. Thus, this study aims to investigate associated factors (preferences) in addition to healthy behaviors related to oral health and compare these pairs of children. A discreet schooling experiment will be carried out to determine the attributes associated with the schools and preferences of children and adolescents in relation to changes in diet and oral hygiene, observed during the orientation and motivation process for these practices. A sample of pairs of twins will be selected for this research project, as part of the Thematic subproject P12, seeking to satisfy the above objective. All pairs of children will receive guidance on healthy dietary habits and oral hygiene, applying cognitive behavioral theory, so that the participant records the goals achieved. Participants will be evaluated at the beginning of the study and semi-annually, for 24 months. The changes between the different moments will be evaluated based on the checklist in the reavaliações. The instrument for the DCE will be applied to the participants at 12 months of follow-up. It will be composed of attributes (and their respective levels) that can be associated with the orientations/changes of behavior. These attributes have been defined by a panel of experts and validated in a patient pilot sample and presented with an experimental design that has also been previously tested. The primary error will be determined by each of two attributes related to the change of tested behavior. Using the pair of gems as a cluster, the attributes that lead to changes in individual behavior and which are associated with discordant behaviors within two pairs will be identified. (AU)
