Abstract

Scientific dissemination employs processes and technical resources to communicate scientific and technological information in an accessible manner to the general public. It serves as the bridge between academia and society, fostering an interest in science, contributing to the expansion of knowledge and understanding among the lay public, while also aiding in the development of critical thinking and decision-making. However, the majority of research conducted within universities remains confined to academic circles, and the academic, technical, and scientific knowledge produced by researchers often does not reach the broader population. The present proposal aims to disseminate the procedures and results of the research project "Resilience of primates to anthropogenic landscapes," funded by FAPESP, with the goal of popularizing science and showcasing the work of researchers from universities in São Paulo. The research to be disseminated seeks to understand the resilience of the black lion tamarin (BLT - Leontopithecus chrysopygus) in behavioral and ecological terms within an anthropogenic landscape. This endeavor aims to contribute to the expansion of the species' database and to the creation and implementation of conservation policies, highlighting the crucial importance of its dissemination. Scientific dissemination efforts will be carried out in the Laboratory of Primatology (LaP), affiliated with the Biodiversity Department of the São Paulo State University (UNESP), Rio Claro campus. We will conduct a survey of research associated with the project and interviews with the involved researchers, aiming to deepen our understanding of the conducted research and determine which aspects to publicize. The laboratory maintains a website (Laboratory of Primatology - LaP - UNESP) and a Facebook account (LaP - Laboratório de Primatologia) to disseminate ongoing research. Additionally, we plan to establish an Instagram profile to enhance the laboratory's visibility, considering its widespread usage in Brazil. Simultaneously, we will create a posting schedule to organize the content to be shared, including the process of producing scientific dissemination materials and the final products. Furthermore, fieldwork will be conducted to collect photos, videos, and interviews to support the production of content. As a result, we will deliver three scientific dissemination products in multimedia formats, prioritizing content quality and data reliability in an accessible language for the public.
