Abstract

The difference-in-discontinuities design (DiDC) aims to solve the limitations of both regression discontinuity designs (RDD) and difference-in-difference designs (DiD) by combining both temporal and discontinuity-based sources of variation. The proposed research aims to introduce a staggered DiDC framework to accommodate treatments introduced across various time periods. We will assess the finite-sample properties of the estimators using Monte Carlo simulation studies and the derivation of asymptotic properties. This approach allows researchers to assess the consistency or variability of the treatment effects across different temporal contexts, providing a more comprehensive understanding of its temporal dynamics.
