Abstract

Data-driven software systems have been increasingly adopted to solve problems in diverse application domains, including medicine and the automotive sector. Implementing machine learning (ML) techniques, such systems have brought considerable challenges to software engineering (SE) to ensure qualities such as reliability. In particular, it is a challenge how to address the requirements of these systems. In this scenario, the main problem to be addressed in this project is the difficulty of specifying requirements that change continuously in data-driven software systems. There is also no consensus about suitable methods/techniques for that, including for the systems to be developed in a large Thematic Project of which this scientific initiation project is part. Hence, the main objective of this project is to propose a method for the continuous specification of requirements (functional and non-functional) of data-driven software systems. To this end, requirements specification methods/techniques will be investigated in the literature and a suitable method/techniques for the continuous specification of requirements will be proposed in the context of that Thematic Project. To evaluate this method, case studies will be conducted. In this way, this project will contribute to this larger project, particularly to the transversal axis of Software Engineering that deals with the quality of the software systems being developed.
