Monochromatic composite resins, referred to as the "chameleon effect", have been showing promising results with the potential to become standard in the future, intending to simplify restorative procedures in dentistry. Due to surface roughness, the consumption of certain beverages, and aging, the color of the restoration can be altered. The objective of this study was to evaluate the color change of Vittra APS Unique resin after different intervals of exposure to staining solutions and artificial aging. Disk-shaped specimens (1mm thick) will be made, 24 of each material (Vittra APS Unique and Vittra APS), stored in distilled water at 37oC, polished, and washed. The initial color evaluation will be carried out using a spectrophotometer. After measurement, the specimens will be divided according to resin type and treatment (n = 8): deionized water, coffee, red wine, and UV-accelerated artificial aging. Aging-dependent changes in color (”E00) will be measured at the beginning and after aging or immersion in coffee and red wine, at 2.5 days (T1) and 5 days (T2). CIELAB color differences (”Eab) will be calculated and converted into CIEDE2000. To analyze the results, ”E00 and ”Eab values will be tabulated for descriptive and inferential statistical analysis, and color differences of ”E00 d 0.8 and d 1.8 will be used to interpret the results.
