About word and image: Eisenstein and Vinicius de Moraes

Abstract

the project aims to investigate the relationship between Vinicius de Moraes and the theoretical and artistic production of Sergei Eisenstein and map the intellectual provocations generated by the interactions between artistic languages that underlie this encounter. The hypothesis that guides this investigation is that Moraes, in the Brazilian context, aims to construct a space for dialogue with other intellectuals in which the artistic nature of cinematography is directly related to the potentialities of the intersection between word and image. A similar approach was explored by Boris Schnaiderman in the 1970s, when, inspired by the analyzes of Viatchesláv V. Ivánov, he fostered, in Brazil, semiotic discussions on the studies carried out by Eisenstein in the context of interartistic relations, especially those between cinema and literature. From this connection, we intend to verify the existence in Brazil of a powerful analytical path of Eisenstein's ideas involving interarts experimentations.
