This research project intends to analyze the rebellions in the Peruvian territory of the century XVI, and its articulations from the revolt of three characters: Gonzalo Pizarro (1544-48),Hernández Girón (1553-54), and that of Lope de Aguirre (1560-61). The sources are the letters, reports and chronicles of characters who were directly or indirectly involved with the rebellions occurred in the viceroyalty of Peru. Therefore, we seek to understand the different moments and contexts in which they occurred, the main reasons and discourses about the acts of rebellion, the repercussion of these acts in Peruvian territory, as well as an analysis of how each of these acts so-called rebels understood the figure of the king. Also considering the relationship of these three characters in themselves, in which Pizarro and Aguirre participated in expeditions towards the mythicalEl Dorado, Girón was part of the armies that fought against Pizarro, and Aguirre ends up mentioning Girón in his letter to King Felipe II of Spain, as an example of a rebel. It is noteworthy that these rebellions were constituted in a recently conquered Peru, whose legal apparatus was being little by little established through the relationship with the New World, and thus the reading of these rebellions through the distance of the Spanish Crown becomes crucial to understand the conflicts of that territory, as well as the articulations established between the rebels.
