Abstract

The research project aims to describe and analyze the perceptions of students enrolled in the course "Laboratory of Textual Production II," a mandatory subject within the Languages Degree course at UNICAMP, taking into account the forms filled out by the students throughout the course. The objective is to identify the appropriation of a metalanguage concerning textual and discursive issues through the analysis of students' perceptions regarding the importance of the subject's methodology in shaping future mother tongue teachers. This research is integrated into the Thematic Project funded by FAPESP: "University learners in contemporary academic and scientific literacy practices for training teachers and globalized researchers" (Process 2022/05908-0), coordinated by Prof. Dr. Inês Signorini (UNICAMP), and the subproject "Textual Production in Teaching Academic-Scientific Genres at the Undergraduate Level: Socio-cognitive and Discursive Processes in Focus," coordinated by Prof. Dr. Anna Christina Bentes da Silva (UNICAMP). To analyze the data, the study adopts a perspective guided by several concepts from text theory, including the processes of recategorization (Koch, 2009), where students reclassify their discursive actions and the discourse objects proposed in the questions of the forms; and the appropriation of meta-categories, notably metadiscourse (Morato, 2012; Jubran, 2003); metalanguage (Morato, 2005) and metapragmatics (Signorini, 2008), by the students in a predominantly practical-oriented subject.
