Abstract

Leishmaniasis, whether integumentary or visceral, has a zoonotic and dissemination through sandflies infected by the protozoan, being endemic in some regions of the state of São Paulo. Clinical studies, normally, they are restricted to humans and canine hosts. At the same time, there is little research on free-ranging wild boars, a since these mammals are an invasive alien species, which causes environmental impacts and damage to Public Health. In this way, the objective in this study will be to investigate the occurrence of Leishmania spp. in free-ranging wild boars in northwest region of the state of São Paulo, Brazil. From a total of 30 animals were collected, two fragments of liver, spleen and lymph nodes. One of the rates was intended for parasitological research, through the production of imprints of theseorgans staining slides with Giemsa. The other will be subjected to detection molecular by Conventional Polymerase Chain Reaction (cPCR). To the visualization of the amplification of products after cPCR, the electrophoresis in 2% agarose gel stained with Sybr Safe® (Invitrogen). A data analysis will consist of descriptive and inferential statistics (Exact Test ofFisher) to verify the association between the presence of these pathogens with each of the variables studied (gender and age group).
