Abstract Regenerative processes are frequent procedures in current dentistry. Understanding andenabling regenerative processes associated with auxiliary therapies that improve oraccelerate this practice can be relevant in the face of challenges in reconstructions. Theobjective of the study is to evaluate the possible benefit of low power laser therapy in guided bone regeneration processes in critical defects in calfs of young rats. 96 male Wistar rats divided into 4 groups will be used. Group COA, which will have the critical defect (DC) filled only by the blood clot (negative control); Group OURO, where only a porcinecollagen membrane (BioGide®) will be used (positivecontrol); Group LT, where the animals will receive laser therapy as treatment (808 nm/ 100w/ 212J ²); Group OURO+LTwhere the porcine collagen membrane (BioGide®) will be used associated with laser therapyfollowing the same protocol as the LT group. The animals will be euthanized after periodsof 7, 15, 30 and 60 days. The pieces will be analyzed for histomorphometry, volumetricparameters by microCT and quantitative analysis of new bone formation inthe region of the defect. After analyzing the results obtained, the best statistical test will be applied. | |
