Abstract

This undergraduate research project presents a research plan that aims to gather data on the graphic production of the main Brazilian newspapers in contemporary times. The study will include a survey on format, printing techniques, runs and types of paper used for the production of newspapers in all regions of the country. The research will have the main Brazilian newspapers in circulation at the present time as an object of analysis. The data collected will be able to create a panoramic view of the printing techniques and the amount of newspapers printed nowadays, in addition to bringing information on the permanence of the printed medium as a fundamental element for the dissemination of information generated with social responsibility and commitment on the source of the news, both in terms of graphic design and visual programming and in the journalistic scope. This information will constitute a reference database for researchers of printed media in Brazil.
