Abstract

Supercritical technology is green and sustainable and improves the yield and quality of the extract, and avoids the degradation of the extracted bioactive compounds. Cambuci fruit and peels should be studied and used by the cosmetic, pharmaceutical, or food industry due to the wide variety of bioactive compounds they present. Obtaining bioactive compounds from agro-industrial residues through green extraction methods such as microwaves and ultrasonics can contribute to reducing the environmental impact generated by the food industry and generate added value to residues with high potential, such as cambuci (Campomanesia Phaea Berg) peel. In this context, this proposal consists of a short stay at the University of Cadiz (UCA) to identify the best microwave and ultrasound-assisted extraction conditions for the recovery of bioactive compounds from the cambuci peel. In addition, this research abroad practice will contribute to the training of professionals who handle extraction techniques considered green and safe and will allow the consolidation of cooperation networks between the University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and the University of Cádiz (UCA).
