Abstract

The success of implants depends on the osseointegration, which represents the fixation and stability of implant and bone tissue. Titanium (Ti) is the most used material for the installation of oral implants due to its biocompatibility and excellent mechanical properties. However, recently zirconia has also been successfully used to replace dental components. Besides the great compatibility and resistance of both materials, the application of strategies that can improve and accelerate the osseointegration process are still under investigation. Implants surface modifications aim to accelerate peri-implant repair. This investigation will evaluate the effect of biomofication of titanium and zirconia substrates by collagen covering on the adhesion and metabolism of bone cells using an in vitro model. Results will be statistically analyzed according to distribution and homoscedasticity.
