Abstract

This work is based on the synthesis and study of properties of luminescent particles in the visible region based on rare earth niobate doped with Pr3+ ions and alkaline earth ions, which are potential candidate for persistent luminescence. Alternative routes of synthesis will be proposed involving mainly sol gel process. The structural and luminescent properties will be performed using spectroscopic methods, X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy. Their luminescence properties will be evaluated. The challenge here is focused on the development of efficient persistent luminescent materials through a better understanding of the storage mechanisms involved. This project will involve collaboration between Mater Lumen and Photonic Materials Laboratories.
