Abstract

With the aim of to evaluate the effect of pequi oil (PO) supplementation in diets for broilers under cyclic heat stress on the differential profile of proteins expressed in liver tissue. An experiment will be conducted in two climatic chambers (thermoneutral and with cyclic heat stress) belonging to the Laboratory of Aves Nutrition (LabAves) at Unesp - Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science/Campus Botucatu/SP. A total of 216 1-d-old male broiler chicks of the Cobb® 500 strain, previously vaccinated against Gumboro, Marek and avian poxvirus disease, will be reared in galvanized wire cages (0.4 x 0.5 x 0.6m) with trough-type feeders arranged in front of the cage and nipple-type drinkers, in two climatic chambers: thermoneutral and with cyclic heat stress. The birds will be distributed in a completely randomized design (CRD), in a 2 x 2 factorial scheme, with two climatic chambers: thermoneutral and cyclic heat stress and two levels of inclusion of pequi oil: 0 - negative control (without antibiotic performance) and 0.60% inclusion of PO with nine replications of six birds each, totaling 4 treatments. At 42 days of age, nine birds per treatment will be sacrificed to collect liver tissue samples for proteomic analysis using the LC-MS/MS shotgun strategy. (AU)
