Abstract

Bioceramic endodontic sealers deserve attention due to their biological properties and interaction with dentin. Bioglass particles, considered a type of bioactive ceramic composed of silicon oxide, calcium pentoxide, sodium oxide, sodium pentoxide can be used to promote greater bioactivity and adhesion with dentin. The Laboratory of Vitreous Materials (LaMaV - UFSCar) developed a bioglass, F18, with high bioactivity. This study aims to develop protocols for the treatment of dentin, prior to the use of powder-liquid or ready-to-use endodontic sealers. The effect of dentin treatment (bioglass suspension at a concentration of 2.5%; 5.0% and 10.0% and distilled water as a control) on dentin and cement/dentin interface will be evaluated. The bond strength of the filling material with the dentin will be evaluated by using the push-out test. The test will be performed using cylindrical bovine dentin tubes with an internal diameter of 1.3 mm, wall thickness of approximately 1.0 mm. The specimens will be subdivided into groups according to the treatment of dentin and endodontic sealer: Bio-C Sealer (Angelus, Brazil), BioRoot RCS (Septodont, France) or AH Plus (Dentsply, Germany). The evaluation of the bond strength (push-out) will be carried out using an Emic DL 2000 testing machine with a 1 kN load cell operating at a constant speed of 0.5 mm/min. The data obtained for each evaluation will be submitted to the appropriate statistical tests, with a significance level of 5%.
