Abstract

This research project aims to study the conceptual power present in Clarice Lispector's literature based in the theories of Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari. The research core comprises some intersection points between Lispector's literature and the philosophy of Deleuze & Guattari. From this research core (composed by elements like the becoming, the unrepresentable, the linguistic subversion, the sensation etc.), the procedure in Claricean writings will be analyzed. More concisely, the pursuit to layout in her texts what has no representation builds signs capable of genuine differential thought and, from the Delezian reasoning that a sign is what forces us to think, it is considered that Lispector's literature opens to a conceptual force when building these signs. The analysis follows in two steps. First, epiphany (with particular emphasis on its reviews by the critics) is approach in her texts, i.e. a clairvoyant state (in the sense given by Deleuze) in her characters that are traversed by a vision without correspondence in theirs familiarity fields when faced by an intensive match. Second, we will show how, from syntactical, morphological, semantical and stylistics subversion, Lispector's texts build singular, sensible signs which are able to carry by themselves these visions from the characters. The corpus consists of the novels Água viva and Uma aprendizagem ou o livro dos prazeres, the tales "Miss Algrave", "O ovo e a galinha", "A bela e a fera ou a ferida grande demais", "O relatório da coisa" and the chronicle "Estado de graça".
