Abstract

This project aims to analyze the historical narratives on the Youtube channel 'Brasil Paralelo', adopting a perspective that considers the exercise of a Digital Public History inserted in a post-truth context. Furthermore, it desires to understand, from the study of the ideological and structural formation process of the company, the reflections of this historical time in its performance in the present. On the Youtube platform, he is characterized as an agent that proposes to tell the story "that teachers do not tell", building its discourse under the justification of fighting the cultural Marxist hegemony of academic productions and, above all, trying to displace the authority of historians. Our proposal contemplates this construction of scientific knowledge outside the university walls, and especially in the digital environment, an exercise of Digital Public History. Whereas armed with a discourse of contestation of the historian's profession and the validation of academic institutions, it develops remarkable characteristics of a mentality of the Post-Truth. According to our hypothesis, it propitiates the emergence of negationist and revisionist historical narratives. To build the analyses concerning the historical narratives, the present work will use three episodes of the documentary series 'The Last Crusade', establishing theoretical-methodological references that defend and support the treatment of cinematographic sources as a source for historical research.
