The AdS/CFT correspondence and its generalization, gauge/gravity duality, relates holographically a gravitational theory in a background spacetime to a field theory living at the boundary of its space. But it can be applied also to cosmology, in the strong coupling gravity regime, being dual to a 3-dimensional perturbative field theory. The example was started by therelation $\Psi(\Phi)=Z(\Phi)$ proposed by Maldacena. A phenomenological holographic approach, by McFadden and Skenderis, gives results matching the CMBR data and explaining the standard issues of Big Bang cosmology as well as the standard $\Lambda$-CDM plus inflation. Recently, even simple 3-dimensional scalar field toy models were shown to reasonably match the CMBR data. We will study the relation between the two, and to a D2-brane toy model of holographic cosmology.
