Abstract

Red Geysers are quiescent galaxies with galactic scale ionised outflows, likely due to low-luminosity AGN. These outflows may be responsible for maintaining low star formation in Red Geysers. Then, these objects are a significant piece to understand the role of AGN feedback in galaxy evolution. However, even the presence of AGN in these galaxies is still uncertain. The emission-line ratios reveal that Red Geysers usually present LINER ionisation. However, the nature of the ionising source in LINERs is still unclear and may be post-AGB stars, AGN or shocks. Because of this uncertainty in the ionising source in LINERs, until recently, we did not have reliable semi-empirical calibrations to estimate the chemical abundances of these objects. We will use integral field spectroscopy data from the MaNGA survey, GMOS-IFU and SIFS-SOAR to determine the emission line ratios, equivalent widths, gas kinematics and stellar kinematics to investigate the ionising source and the impact of outflows in Red Geysers. Furthermore, we will determine the chemical abundances for the first time in Red Geyser galaxies using the recently proposed calibrations for LINERs and Seyfert.
