Abstract

The 21st century has highlighted creativity as an essential feature. However, despite this appreciation, Brazil currently does not have any test approved for professional use in the assessment of this construct in adolescents and adults. Faced with this gap, an instrument that has been published to assess children's figural creativity (Children's Figural Creativity Test) is being the subject of studies aimed at investigating its psychometric qualities for use in an extended age group, in this case, adolescents, adults and the elderly. This study presents two psychometric studies pertaining to this new version, namely, the accuracy of the evaluators (study 1) and validity evidence based on external variables of divergent type (study 2). In study 1, the sample will be composed of three judges (IC fellows from the research group), who will correct about 100 tests contained in the research group's database. The tests will be divided so that each one will be corrected by two judges. Initially, the descriptive statistics of scores for each characteristic and its factors will be estimated for each judge. Then the correlation will be used to check the accuracy of judges (ie the accuracy/agreement between them). An additional personality assessment instrument (the Personality Factorial Battery) will be administered to approximately 100 participants in study 2. In both instruments, the results will be compared using Spearman correlations, with the aim that, given the differences between the constructs, low or non-significant correlations will appear. The results of this study are likely to contribute to the investigation of other psychometric qualities in this new version of the instrument. The results can be used to confirm its suitability for the new age group.
