Genomics of viruses associated with human disease.

Abstract

The post-doctoral fellow will work in the genomic and metagenomic study for the prospection of new viruses. He or she will also work in the management of laboratory data, bioinformatics and statistical analysis, with the graduate students involved in the project. Studies will be carried out at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School of the University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP) in Brazil.Description of Objective: To study the virome of patients with acute febrile illness and central nervous system infections that do not have a diagnosis defined by traditional methodologies; Search for zoonotic viruses infecting wild animals (bats, rodents, skunks and non-human primates).
