Abstract

This research internship proposal aims to investigate the local stability for nonlinear systems described by Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) continuous- and discrete-time fuzzy systems, including estimates for the region of attraction, controller synthesis (state- and output-feedback) involving performance criteria such as H2 and H-infinity norms, structure constraints, saturation, and other requirements. The methodology is an extension of the iterative algorithm recently proposed by the authors in the context of global stability. Less conservative and more general results are expected through the employment of homogeneous polynomial (or rational) fuzzy Lyapunov functions of arbitrary degree in the states, resulting in synthesis conditions formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities relaxations.
