Abstract

Herbal medicine based on Avena sativa L. (Neuravena®) has numerous pharmacological and medicinal actions, already proven, mainly with antioxidant action. The investigation of the antioxidant and antiglicant activity, and the development of a method of green synthesis to obtain silver nanoparticles containing the phytotherapic may contribute with important information for new applications in the pharmacological, food and cosmetological industries. Knowing also that, currently, there are no data in the literature on green synthesis for this herbal medicine and its active compounds. Therefore, the present work aims to develop a green synthesis method to obtain silver nanoparticles containing the standardized dry extract of the herbal medicine based on Avena sativa L. (Neuravena®), with possible application in the food, drug and cosmetics industry. . The characterization of silver nanoparticles will be carried out by uv-vis spectrophotometric methodology for the formation of nanoparticles under different conditions (silver extract concentration, pH, temperature and time), the size of the nanoparticle will be determined by Zeta potential, determination of the polydispersion index and Transmission electronic microscopy. The antioxidant activity will also be evaluated by means of in vitro tests of scavenging stable free radical DPPH, Fe+3 ion (FRAP), nitric oxide radical (NO) and lipid peroxidation (TBARS), as well as the antiglycant activity, by method of protein mobility in electrophoresis, determination of free amino groups and inhibition of AGE formation. The quantification of total phenols and flavonoids of silver nanoparticles containing standardized dry extract of herbal medicine based on Avena sativa L. (Neuravena®) will be carried out.
