Abstract

The main objective of this research project is to understand how ethnic-racial issues in the teaching-learning process of geography, in the high school phase, act in the affirmation and tension of identities and practices of young students, developing a geographical reasoning marked by youth interactions. anti-racists. The research has a qualitative approach and will be carried out in a high school in the Metropolitan Region of Campinas (RMC), anchored in the action-research method, with the purpose of a more direct contact with the research subjects (teachers and young students) and the consideration of their points of view in favor of the improvement of anti-racist pedagogical practices in the teaching of Geography. With the research method adopted, we intend to plan, implement, describe and evaluate actions to attenuate geographic knowledge related to ethnic-racial issues, youth category and their intersections, as well as contributions to the daily school life of young people. We emphasize the importance of promoting, through geographic education, an educational project that considers the place and socio-spatial experiences of young people, taking into account the variants of structural racism and coloniality.
