Abstract

The aim of this study is to evaluate the aerobic stability (AS) of reconstituted corn grain silages (RCS) using different inoculants and of supplements containing RCS for beef cattle in finishing phase on pasture with high supplementation as well as the effects of its consumption on the animals. Experiment 1 (Exp. 1.) will consist of evaluating the RCS without and with the use of Lactobacillus buchneri + Lactobacillus hilgardii or Lactobacillus plantarum + L. buchneri. The fermentative profile and the AS of the RCS will be evaluated after 60 days of fermentation in 18 experimental silos distributed in a completely randomized design. In addition, the AS and the nutritional profile of the supplement composed of RCS exposed for 0, 72 and 144 hours (h) will be evaluated using subdivided plots. In Experiments 2 (Exp. 2) and 3 (Exp. 3) 4 treatments will be evaluated, being T1: supplement with ground dry corn; T2: supplement with RCS provided to the animals at the moment of preparation; T3: RCS supplement provided to the animals 72 h after preparation; T4: RCS supplement provided to animals 144 h after preparation. The treatment used in the RCS of Exp. 2 and Exp. 3 will be chosen from the results that will be obtained in Exp. 1. The Exp. 2 will use 8 rumen-cannulated Nelores [24 months old and 450 kg body weight (BW)] distributed in two 4 × 4 Latin squares consuming supplement ad libitum. The ruminal degradability of the supplement, rumen parameters, microbial protein and N balance will be evaluated. O Exp. 3 will use 960 intact male Nelores (400 kg BW and 20 months old). The animals will be blocked based on weight, being randomly distributed in 12 paddocks of 10 hectares. The trial period will be 111 days. Consumption and performance will be evaluated. The analysis of the data of the three experiments will be done using the PROC MIXED of the SAS.
