Abstract Introduction: Pregnancy is considered a normal period that should not interfere with the pregnant woman's quality of life or activities. However, there are biomechanical and hormonal changes in the woman's body that can cause complications, such as pain in the pelvic girdle. This pain manifests itself between the posterior iliac crest and the gluteal fold, presents high frequency in the target population and is considered a public health issue, as it generates both individual impacts, with psychological and physical implications, as well as socioeconomic, being one of the reasons that it can cause disability for women and high costs with compensation for absenteeism. In addition, a significant proportion of pregnant women suffer negligence when they seek medical help and do not have a strengthened support network, which makes the gestational period more complex and causes exacerbation of factors related to the musculoskeletal dysfunction in question. In view of this, the importance of studies focused on the theme is evident and the proposal to build specialized educational material for self-management and health promotion for pregnant women is essential, in order to develop self-care and autonomy for this population that needs support. Objective: To describe the construction and validation of an educational booklet for pregnant women with pelvic girdle pain. Method: This is a methodological development study that will be carried out at the Laboratory of Research in Women's Health (LAMU) of the Federal University of São Carlos. The booklet will be produced from a bibliographic survey with scientific basis and, after construction, will be validated by health judges and target audience. To perform the analysis, the Content Validity Index method and absolute agreement will be adopted, which need, respectively, a cutoff score greater than 0.8 and 75% for material validation. Expected results: It is assumed that the content validity indices and the percentage of absolute agreement will present a standard of acceptability, that is, the booklet will obtain validation and contribute to public health, as it will support the treatment of pain in the pelvic girdle. | |
