Abstract

This internship project abroad is part of the Master's research project "The employer's world in focus: class, race, and gender in domestic work" (Case No. 2021/03417-6), carried out at the Postgraduate Program in Anthropology of the State University of Campinas. The present project foresees a research internship in Argentina, a country with extensive academic and political experience with paid domestic work in Latin America. Thus, the internship will aim to analyze the correlations between the Argentinean context and the Brazilian one (observed in the MA research) with regard to the "employer world" in paid domestic work. Specifically, I will seek to investigate the existence and performance of Argentinean networks, representative entities, legal norms and initiatives on domestic work, analyzing them in comparison with Brazilian organizations. In addition, I will seek to understand the perspectives of Argentinean employers on issues such as formalization, participation in unions, and professionalization of the category, considering an intersectional analysis of class, race, and gender. In this way, the internship will strongly contribute to the deepening of questions and results raised so far by the master's research in Brazil, as well as broaden the discussion to a regional Latin American perspective.
