Abstract

A healthy work environment is characterized as one in which workers and managers collaborate in a process of continuous improvement for the protection and promotion of the safety, health and well-being of all workers and for the sustainability of the work environment. Among the existing instruments to assess healthy work environments in the health area, the Healthy Work Environment Assessment Tool stands out, as it can be applied with the multidisciplinary team. In view of the above, the objective of this project is to adapt the Healthy Work Environment Assessment Tool to Brazilian culture. For this, we intend to conduct a methodological study based on a theoretical framework for cross-cultural adaptation of measuring instruments, following the translation steps; synthesis; back translation; content validation by a group of at least five experts; pre-test with 30 health professionals and evaluation of documents by the author of the original instrument. The data obtained will be tabulated in the Excel for Windows/XP® program and descriptive statistics of the qualitative variables and position measurements of the quantitative variables will be performed. Content validity will be evaluated by calculating the Content Validity Index and Modified Kappa Coefficient. It is expected, with the accomplishment of this research, to make available to researchers and managers of Brazilian health institutions, a tool to measure the presence of characteristics of a healthy work environment.
