Abstract

The magnitude of the urban problems of the city of São Paulo comes to an unprecedented stage,as both historical and economic as urban policy related problems seem to have cooled down, revealing the difficulties in the realm of ideas and solutions for the city. In relation to socialhousing, these stalemates are more evident as the massive public investments have notrepresented a qualitative change in different scales of the metropolis. Despite some importantexamples of housing solutions in "paulista" architecture indicating a more comprehensiveproposal for urban space, there are no systematic studies that focus on this approach. Theobjective of this research is to identify the spatial patterns (understood as the relationshipbetween architecture and city) in the design of Parque Novo Santo Amaro V, a project byVigliecca Associates, built between 2009 and 2012 in the district of Jardim Ângela - in the cityof São Paulo - by the Secretary of Housing (SEHAB-HABI-SP/Consórcio Mananciais). In thissense, this research proposes: a) spatial analysis of the typologies; deriving on b) the relationshipof these typologies with the existing city; c) the transformation of these spaces of habitat in thedevelopment of the city; d) the reception and incorporation of these alternatives to discipline ande) the consolidation of the documents of these projects for future research. This project is part ofa broader research, which was supported by Auxílio Regular FAPESP (no. 2013 / 14951-7),coordinated by professors Luiz Recamán and Leandro Medrano (FAUUSP), dedicated to thestudy of some housing projects built in the metropolitan region from São Paulo, and is currentlyinserted in the Thematic Project 16 / 22704-8 - "Architecture and urbanism facing the socialspace in the 21st century: segregation strategies and appropriation tactics." In this new phase, theproject includes the participation of post-doctoral fellow Marcos Leite Rosa, from theDepartment of History of Architecture and Aesthetics of the Project (AUH), from FAUUSP.
