Abstract

As a result of the radical political-ideological polarizations and the sanitary collapse of Covid-19, the organization of journalistic work has undergone changes with an intensification of precariousness and the rise of fake news. Concomitantly, there was a worsening of attacks on press freedom in Brazil, with a growing wave of violence and discrediting strategies, practiced by the government itself, thus reaching a historical record in relation to the other years recorded by the report of the National Federation of Journalists. Due to this, the research aims to investigate points little explored in the literature, such as the impacts on mental health and on the subjectivity of journalists in the face of violence and new forms of work organization through an exploratory-transversal and qualitative-comprehensive study having the theory of psychodynamics of work as a reference and respecting the precepts of research ethics. The target audience is journalists who have suffered violence. Data collection will take place online, through individual interviews. The data analysis will have as a reference the theoretical concepts aimed at understanding the suffering and the experience of journalists in relation to work and the aggressions suffered in the exercise of it. The research is expected to be an opportunity for journalists to elaborate on the suffering to which they are exposed and articulate actions. The results will help mental health professionals to base their care practices on a sensitized view of the pathogenic aspects of journalistic work. (AU)
