Network slicing technology enables creation of many virtual networks over a common infrastructure while maintaining isolation between the slices. It is being considered as one of the most promising approaches to the reengineering of the network, once it allows partitioning of a physical network into multiple virtual networks, each one designed and optimized for a specific applications. However, the performance of similar network slice instances can be very different depending on the adopted sequence of procedures, since it is affected by the characteristics of the network functions to support them (performed by an orchestrator like NFV-MANO framework) and by the geographical location of these network functions. Therefore, in this project it is proposed to study fairness among network slices performance using adapted strategies already applied to Elastic Optical Networks. The main tool is computational modeling and simulation, but we also intend to present a proof of concept in a real experimental network with network slicing feature. (AU)
