Abstract

This project is part of the current master's research about the potential connection between the possible shift of meaning of the concept of immediacy at the opening of the Doctrine of Essence and the problem of the logical beginning. In other words, we work with the hypothesis that the shift of meaning of the term immediacy at the opening of Logic's second book (materialized by the advent of the concept of reflected immediacy) is the best interpretation of what Hegel means by the solution of the problem of beginning through the circularity of science. According to that, we aim, with this project, to analyze the opening of the second book of Hegel's Logic in the light of the role played, in that text, by the concept of immediacy. More specifically, this project proposes an analysis of the first chapter of Hegel's Doctrine of Essence based on the meaning of the term immediacy in this text. This effort will benefit from the reference to classic texts in the secondary bibliography on this topic. (AU)
