Abstract

The objectives of this research internship abroad project are to investigate the international scenario on argumentation in chemistry education and to counter it with the existing results in Brazil. This investigation is related to the project "Argumentation in chemistry education: state of the art using foreign literature as a counterpoint to existing results in Brazil" (FAPESP process no: 2020/02757-5). For the elaboration of this counterpoint, in the national context, in the period from 2000 to 2020, articles published in journals with a selective editorial policy and complete works that appear in the annals of the National Meeting of Research in Science Education and the Meeting National Chemistry Teaching have already been analyzed. As for the international scenario, in the period from 1990 to 2020, articles published in English and in science education journals will be obtained and analyzed with the collaboration of Dr. Fabrizio Macagno (New University of Lisbon). These will be studied and compared to works from Brazil based on the following descriptors: year of publication, institution and country of origin, level of education, thematic focus, objectives, results, methodological tools for the study of argumentation and data collection methods. In addition, we intend to publish the results of the research in collaboration with Professor Macagno. (AU)
