Abstract

Medical imaging is responsible for most of the modern medicine advances. Methods such as Computed Tomography (CT), Ultrasound (US) and Nuclear Magnetic Ressonance (NMR) grant the realization of in vivo studies likewise fast and accurate diagnoses. This project aims to investigate an algorithm capable of reconstructing tomographic images using the sonothrombolysis device. Using such hardware as an ultrasound source and receptor, it is intended to combine the qualitative method (SAFT) and the quantitative method (TFT) reconstruction techniques so that tomographic sections of the region between the studied body and the equipment's transducer matrix can be generated. This technique is presented as a non-invasive, low cost and non-ionizing option capable of generating tomographic images that will be used to search for pathologies and help the positioning guidance of transducers during the sonothrombolysis process.
