Abstract

With the abrupt number of contaminations by Covid19, it has been observed not only the acute symptoms but also the sequelae left by the disease. The relationship between infections and resulting affections on the auditory system is well known in the international literature, and, therefore, there are studies that also correlate infection by Covid19 and hearing loss in individuals without previous hearing impairment. There is still only a small number of research, especially national ones, which indicates the possible association between these two factors, thus emphasizing the importance of further investigations of the auditory pathway in the peripheral and central portion of individuals affected by Covid19.Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate the effects of the new coronavirus on hearing through peripheral and central audiological assessment in proven post-Covid adult patients, who are already at the risk of transmission and in good health. Methodology: Post Covid19 Adult individuals within the established inclusion criteria, will be evaluated through exams of imitanciometry, pure tone and vocal audiometry, and auditory brainstem evoked potential.
