Abstract

Cell therapy using stem cells derived from different tissues of the body has been the subject of scientific investigations in the field of regenerative medicine as it is a promising alternative for the treatment of bone diseases. Among the types of stem cells, it is known that embryonic stem cells have a high plasticity and a great potential for self-renewal, which increases their ability to differentiate in all tissues of the body, except embryonic attachments. To avoid the ethical issues on the use of embryonic cells and molecular aspects of immune compatibility induced pluripotent cells (iPS), generated from the gene reprogramming of somatic cells, emerge as a viable alternative in the field of regenerative medicine, which can lead to the generation of several cell lines with specific phenotypes, such as osteoblasts. In this context, the aims of this project are to: (1) induce the reprogramming of embryonic fibroblasts obtained from mice to generate iPS in an in vitro model and (2) to evaluate the differentiation of the generated iPS into osteoblasts. The quantitative data will be analyzed in the Software SPSS - Statistical Package for Social Science (IBM, USA, v.24.0) with a significance level established at 5%. (AU)
