Abstract

The project Gender Equality in Science, Technology and Innovation - Bilateral and Multilateral Dialogues, hereby GENDER STI, is a collaborative project involving partners from eighteen countries in four continents, that aims the analysis and the policy proposition to mitigate the gender inequality in the international collaborations in science, technology and innovation - STI. The project is organised as a consortium cofunded by European Commission (European Partners), FAPESP (Brazilian Partner) and others national funding agencies (third countries), and it has been approved for funding by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 Framework. Besides the diagnostic about the gender inequality in the bilateral and multilateral dialogues and agreements in STI, the GENDER STI project aims also to develop strategies and collaborative solutions to face the common challenges in the gender inequality in the countries represented in the project consortium. With the objective to assure the sustainability of the project and the results obtained, both in terms of continuous diagnosis and policy making, the project will create and will launch two gender observatories, the European Gender Observatory in STI and the Paulista Gender Observatory, pioneers in Latin America and Europe. The mission of the observatories is to store the knowledge and the material obtained by the project and disseminate them, even after the end of the project funding, in order to act as permanent centres of gender equality in the international dialogues in STI.
