Characterize and evaluate the biomechanical behavior using the finite element method and fatigue strength of unitary implants in two different designs: titanium implants with zirconia abutments and zirconia implants with zirconia abutments. Materials and Methods: 40 implants will be used, being 20 of commercially pure titanium (TZ) and 20 of zirconia (ZZ). The implants will present 4.1 mm of diameter and 10 mm length. For each implant will be fixed a zirconia abutment (PilaresSynOcta) with conic design 8° and internal frictional connection, installed with a torque of 35 using a digital torque wrench. The torque will be confirmed within 10 minutes of abutment placement, at the beginning and end of the fatigue test. For surface microstructure characterization, SEM, EDS and XRD will be performed. For topographic characterization will be performed the analysis of crown vertical misfit and optical profilometry. All samples will be subjected to the fatigue survival test and will receive 2.000.000 cycles at 2 Hz with a stainless steel sphere (1,6 mm diameter), caccording to the parameters described in ISO 14801:2007, followed by fractographic analysis. The stress distribution will be analyzed by finite element method and the microstrain using strain gauge analisys. The results will be discussed according to the literature. (AU)
