Starting from a characterization of the relation of critique and history in Marx's Grundrisse, this project proposes two lines of investigation: (i) how the nondogmatic conception of critique that guides the mature critique of political economy relates to the "critical philosophy" Marx first exposed in his early works, which entails a reevaluation of the passage between the early and the mature works from the standpoint of critique. Secondly (ii), following some recent investigations regarding the notion of presentism in Hegel's philosophy, we intend to clarify how the Marxian articulation of critique and history locates the present historical moment inside the exposition of the critique of political economy. Thus, on one hand, we intend to analyze how the mature conception of exposition, when unfolded as the central aspect of critique, points to a rupture in relation to Marx's early works. On the other hand, by highlighting how Marx changed his conception of exposition during his mature oeuvre, we aim to study the manner through which Marx's critical exposition of political economy dealt with presentism.
