Abstract

This research is about the Inquisition of Goa (created in 1560 and abolished for good in 1812) and the ways the institution and its ministers influenced the religious, social and economic policies of the Estado da Índia. This angle of analysis implies in the study of the different chronologies of the insertion of the Inquisition among other local institutions, its minister's careers, and their influence on the governmental decisions related to the local populations.
