Abstract

The rise of digital economy and the e-commerce as important activities of this period has improved the strategical role of space and place. In Geography, many efforts have been made to better explain such phenomenon, but few consider addressing its uneven diffusion in very different spatial context. This project aims to analyze the geography of retail e-commerce in its differences and similarities between Brazil and France as two territories under uneven level of economic development and spatial integration. Based on theoretical approaches from Milton Santos, Jacques Lévy, Peter Dicken, Bruno Moriset, among others, this research includes bibliographical, documental and fieldwork procedures in Europe, mainly in France and Switzerland, as well as interviews and a cartographic production. It is expected these results will help understanding the geography of e-commerce in Brazil and abroad. (AU)
