A model for light pulse transmission in phoswich plastic scintillator detectors is proposed for the extraction of the incidence position of charged particles in two dimensions. Computer programs will be developed for implementation of the theoretical model, and for parameter adjustments based on the comparison with existing experimental data with alpha particles. It is expected that the model will allow for a reduction of image aberration of the point of incidence position of the particle, and, eventually, improve the special resolution which can be obtained. In a second stage, the improvement of the processing speed of the program for the position evaluation on an event-by-event basis will be attempted so as to improve its efficiency and adequate its employment for nuclear reaction measurements with ion beams.
